Surgical Radiology Course 2018
We are delighted to be able to run this course with the Radiology Academy again after receiving excellent feedback from our previous course candidates.
Who?
This course is specifically aimed at FY2s, core surgical trainees and surgical doctors who want to improve their confidence in interpreting radiological images.
What?
One day focused surgical radiology course, taught exclusively by senior registrars with a strong interest in teaching surgical trainees.
The course content has been designed by a consultant surgeon and radiologist, focusing on the essential imaging techniques and cases which they recognise trainees most often struggle to confidently interpret. The course will consist of a series of lectures, paired with small group image interpretation sessions, allowing trainees to consolidate their knowledge and ask questions.
Places will be limited to ensure a low registrar to trainee ratio and small groups will consist of a maximum of four.

Why?
The ability to confidently interpret the images produced by various radiological modalities is an essential aspect of formulating diagnoses and management plans and is a skill expected of core trainees. However, radiology is rarely a focus of teaching in its own right.
This course will focus on commonly encountered surgical presentations from a variety of surgical specialities and the imaging techniques used as a component of diagnosis. The combination of lectures and workshops will improve theoretical knowledge as well as the essential ability to apply this knowledge in a ward based scenario.
Where?
The course is being held at the Norwich Radiology Academy, Cotman Centre in Norwich which is less than a two hour journey from central London. Return fares are less than £20 when booked in advance.
Norwich has one of only three radiology academies in the country and as such, is a centre for teaching and training excellence with dedicated facilities and staff with a strong background and interest in education.
